In 1999, TOM LIEKENS graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Since then, his artwork has been showcased in numerous exhibitions, including solo and group shows in Belgium and abroad. Liekens' paintings are housed in both private and public collections, including the MKHA, DexiaBank, the Nation-al Bank of Belgium, Antwerp College, and the University of Antwerp.

His oeuvre features large-scale paintings that employ a distinct visual language. Nature in its artificial form, as seen in zoos and natural history museums, is a recur-ring theme in his work. Additionally, he is inspired by the depiction of landscapes and animals in art history, fairytales, and films.
